Welcome to the home of the Eastern Region Police Recruiters and Applicant Investigators Association.

Originally founded in 1984, we are the East Coast’s oldest association dedicated to the law enforcement community’s specialists in background investigations and candidate recruiting. Our members represent local, county, state, and federal agencies across the Mid-Atlantic region and are always willing to assist fellow law enforcement officers seeking to fully and accurately investigate those seeking to enter this profession.

For prospective members we invite you to become a member of ERPRAIA. The networking of applicant background information is clearly our most immediately tangible benefit as our members regularly save hundreds if not thousands of hours of fieldwork annually by interacting with their counterparts. They share not only prior experience with and knowledge of your prospective candidate but also the many varied resources that have been identified and used. Our benefits also include recruitment and investigations training, career fair information, and college job placement activities. Members also constantly share document forms, training opportunities, and other best practices.

Additionally, our bi-monthly meetings discuss common problems encountered and solutions available as well as legal issues updates covering such topics as urinalysis testing, polygraph policies, and the medical/ADA arena. The agenda for each meeting is developed based on member questions, suggestions, and requests. Whenever possible, guest speakers from the law enforcement and legal communities are invited to address current issues of interest.

ERPRAIA is open only to law enforcement, fire & rescue, and corrections agencies. Private sector employers affiliated with government law enforcement-related projects are the only others eligible for membership.
